Inspired of excavations realized in Mondeville, in the old village of Saint-Martin de Trainecourt, the Small Farm is the first building made in the carolingian space, in 2013. The walls of the farm are made out of a wooden structure driven into the ground covered with wattle and daub. It has a thatched roof. The combination of thatch and wattle and daub gives the building a good thermical isolation, wich permits to warm it easily with a small fire inside. This kind of building was the most simple for this era.
